As far as I am concerned, government pays money for people to build bridges to nowhere all the time. Look at the public school system.
If ever there was a bridge to be built–the literacy bridge between students and texts–that would be the one. Instead, we have failed to make good on the tear-down of Brown v.
Board. The way to do that would be to scrap many tasks that don’t support that primary bridge, and empower those that do.
That’s a quick riff, I know. However, why the hell would anybody advocate building a useless bridge when there’s so many useful ones we need? Tax dollars? Give me a break.
